Specimen #Rus02

Here's another cut and polished slab of Charoite from Siberia.  It displays a wonderfully purple color!

Calcite and Quartz
Specimen #Rus03
Dal'negorsk
Primorsky Kray
Russia
8.2x5.7x4.7cm
Small Cabinet
Fluorescent
$75

This specimen is made up of numerous light pink bladed calcite xl's nestled on a bed of frosty white quartz xl's.  Another excellent example from a world class local.  This specimen glows bright orange-red when exposed to SW UV light.

Fluorite
Specimen #Rus04
Nickolaevsky Mine
Dal'negorsk
Primorsky Kray
Russia
8.5x5.3x3.4cm
Small Cabinet
Mildly Fluorescent
$95

This fluorite xl's on this specimen are pure gem!  This piece is made up of a sedimentary matrix covered with numerous calcite xl's to 2mm with dozens of ice cube like fluorite xl's to 1.5cm covering the calcite.  The calcite on this piece glows pinkish red when subjected to SW UV light.

Specimens of this quality are becoming ever harder to find, and if you do, they don't come cheap.  To mind, this is a beautiful specimen!

Fluorite
Specimen #Rus05
First Sovietsky mine
Dal'negorsk
Primorsky Kray
Russia
7.7x4.8x3.0cm
Small Cabinet
$95

The First Sovietsky mine closed close to 50 years ago so what's out there is it! This is a wonderful green octahedral fluorite specimen with minor amounts of quartz and a partial coating of druzy quartz. The major fluorite xl measures 2.8x2.8cm and appears to be damage free except for what I believe to be a contact point.

Pyrrhotite and Quartz
Specimen #Rus06
Nickolaevsky Mine
Dal'negorsk
Primorsky Kray
Russia
5.2x3.9x2.1cm
Large Miniature
ex Ernie Schlichter Collection

Here's a very interesting specimen from the Russian Far East.  It occurs in igneous and metamorphic rocks and the xl's are platy to tabular or bipyramidal.  You could easily display this specimen from either side as I find either one just as attractive as the other.

Eudialyte
Specimen #Rus07
Khibiny Mountains
Kola Peninsula
Russia
12.8x6.9x0.7cm
Cabinet
$45

This is a sawn and polished piece of eudialyte that I picked up from Russian dealer Gennady Skublov in Denver, 2006. Besides the eudialyte, this piece contains aegirine, fedorite and feldspar. The pictures speak for themselves.

Eudialyte

Russia
8.0x7.8x0.7cm
Small Cabinet
$25

This is a sawn and polished piece of eudialyte that I picked up from Russian dealer Gennady Skublov in Denver, 2006. Besides the eudialyte, this piece contains aegirine, fedorite and feldspar. The pictures speak for themselves.

Sulfur
Specimen #Rus09
Vodino deposit
Samara (Region)
Russia
5.8x4.8x4.8cm
Small Cabinet
$50

This is probably one of the gemmiest and brightest colored sulfur specimens I've ever come across.  I purchased it from Dimitry Belakovsky in Tucson.  Dimitry is the curator of the Fersman Mineralogical Museum in Moscow, Russia.  If you ever get to Moscow, I would highly recommend a visit.  The sulfur cluster measures 2.3cm across and is nestled within a vug lined with  quartz xl's.  A very attractive display specimen!

Villiaumite
Specimen #Rus10
Koashva Mountain
Khibina massif
Kola Peninsula
Russia
3.4x2.5x1.8cm
Miniature
$45

Here's an attractive specimen from western Russia.  It's made up of red aggregates of villiaumite xl's with white pectolite sprays.  It's quite gemmy and displays a vividly red color. A somewhat rare  specimen!
