Danburite
    Specimen #Mex10
    7.5 x 3.2 x 2.0cm
    Small Cabinet
    Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
    $20

This species got its name from Danbury, Connecticut which is now an extinct locality, as it’s buried under the city. The finest of these specimens come from Charcas and this is one of them. This crystal is doubly terminated and I can’t find a point of contact, making it a floater. There are two small clusters of calcite attached to one termination. This specimen is clear to faintly pink, with nice sharp terminations. Although the specimen shows some internal fracturing, it has some very nice gemmy sections to it.
