Rhodochrosite
Specimen #rhsa01
4.9 x 2.9 x 2.5cm
Miniature
N'Chwaning Mine #1
Kuruman, Cape Province
South Africa
$95

This specimen is probably my favorite piece listed on this page.  It's made up of two separate generations of rhodochrosite with black manganite on matrix.  First off, there's a generation of black manganite, followed by a generation of bubble gum pink botroidal rhodochrosite.  To top it off, there's another generation of gemmy, cherry red botroidal rhodo on top of the pink layer.  A very interesting and attractive specimen from a world famous and closed location.

Rhodochrosite
Specimen #rhsa03

Miniature
N'Chwaning Mine #1
Kuruman, Cape Province
South Africa

Here's a specimen that made up of  pale pink botroidal rhodo xls to 1cm sitting on a bed of brown unknown bladed xls. The brown matrix looks like stained barite xls to me, but they are so small, that I'm only guessing as to their species. Could be manganite as well.  An attractive and affordable specimen from a defunct world class location.

Here's a colorful and showy specimen that's made up of bright pink, bladed rhodo xls. I don't see very many Rhodo specimens from this local, let alone with this very attractive form.  Enjoy!

This is a really an awesome rhodo specimen.  It's made up of a few "swirling" masses of bright pink, bladed rhodo xls on black manganite. I can't honestly say that I've seen anything quite like this specimen before and was extremely tempted to place it into my own collection.  I don't come across very many Rhodo specimens from this local, let alone with this very attractive form.  Enjoy!

I'd have to say that this is the "cutest" specimen on this page.  I absolutely love its composition, colors and form.  It's made up of  bright pink botroidal rhodo xls intermingled with a number of white bladed barite xls.  An attractive and affordable specimen from a defunct world class location.
