Rhodochrosite and Galena?
Specimen #rh08slab03
7.0 x 3.7 x 0.7cm
Small Cabinet
Capillitas Mine
Catamarca
Argentina
$50

Here's a polished slice of Rhodochrosite from the Capillitas mine in Argentina.  It's polished on one both sides and makes a wonderful display piece with a great color and pattern! There's a silvery vein of what appears to be Galena (?) running through the middle of this specimen.  In addition, the rhodochrosite varies in color from bright pink to an orangey color that could be from iron staining. A shiny and lustrous specimen!

Rhodochrosite
Specimen #rh08slab05
17.1 x 12.8 x 0.9cm
Cabinet
Sonora, Mexico
$145

This is one cool slab.  I've had the pleasure of selling many an Argentinean slab, but a Mexican one, is a first for me.  This one comes from a collector who was selling off his collection and I was lucky enough to stumble across it.  It's polished on both sides and makes an excellent display specimen.  In addition to the very intricately formed rhodochrosite, this slab contains water clear quartz as well.  I love the color of this piece and was tempted to keep it, but decided to share it with y'all.

Rhodochrosite
Specimen #rh08slab06
7.0 x 5.2 x 2.6cm
Small Cabinet
Location unknown
$50

This is an attractive two sided specimen from parts unknown. My instincts tell me it could be from Mexico, although it reminds me a bit of some Japanese pieces I've handled before.  One side is cut and polished, while the other side displays a form of botryoidal rhodochrosite.  Enjoy!

Rhodonite Sphere
Specimen #rh08sphere01
4.2 cm diameter
Miniature
Ural Mountains
Russia
$75

This specimen was sold to me as rhodochrosite but it's rhodonite.  It has excellent color and form, and I thought, what the heck, throw it into this update even though it isn't rhodochrosite.  Hey, it's from the Mother Country!  Every picture tells a story, don't it?
