Rhodochrosite Specimen #rh08wes05 6.4 x 6.1 x 4.2cm Small Cabinet Wessels Mine Kalahari Manganese Fields South Africa $195 This is probably my favorite piece in this lot. It reminds me of an open vug that has been filled by numerous masses of botryoidal rhodo xls. Within the vug, the xls take on the shape of mini stalactites in my view. This is a very unique piece as I have never seen anything quite like it from the Wessels mine before. The backside of this specimen displays a rather odd coloration and formation. No doubt, this comes from where and how this piece was formed. No damage. |
