Zomba District
Malawi
4.7 x 3.7 x 1.5cm

This specimen consists of a cluster of highly reflective, near jet black aegerine xls perched on a bed of microcline xls.  The cluster of xls measures 2.6x1.7x1.5cm .

Amethyst "Flower"
Specimen #Tu090502
Rio Grande do Sul
Brazil
4.9 x 3.9 x 2.4cm
Large Miniature
$45

This specimen consists of what I would call a "button" or "rose" of amethyst.  I included a photo of its "roots".  Nice cluster with good color and almost completely intact. I noticed one small trivial ding, only visible under magnification.

Aurichalchite on Hemimorphite
Specimen #Tu090503
79 Mine
near Hayden
Gila County
Arizona
4.0 x 3.5 x 1.7cm
Miniature
$50

This specimen consists of matrix coated by colorless hemimorphite xls and slender, needle like starburst sprays of turquoise blue aurichalcite xls.  No damage to this cool rock!

Azurite and Malachite
Specimen #Tu090504
Malbunka Copper Mine
Areyonga
Northern Territory
Australia
10.9x5.4x4.5 cm
Cabinet
$150

Collectors Edge had these unusual specimens for sale this year in Tucson and I have one other specimen for sale was told by one of their staff that there has been about a twenty five year gap in the availability of specimens from this locality in Australia. The azurite xls form between layers of kaolinitic clay and are forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner, thus forming the "sun" shape.

This specimen displays not only the flattened sun shaped azurite, but a bit of malachite as well adding a nice contrasting effect on the clay matrix. The diameter of the azurite sun is approximately 5.4cm.  I have one other specimen from this local with two Azurite "suns".

Chalcanthite
Specimen #Tu090505
Majuba Hill Mine
Pershing County
Nevada
3.5 x 3.4 x 1.5cm
Miniature
$15

This specimen consists of an amalgamation of neon blue xls on matrix.  Wild color at a great price.

Elbaite with Albite
Specimen #Tu090506
Stak Nala
Gilgit Division
Northern Areas
Pakistan
1.9 x 1.3 x 0.8cm
Thumbnail
$50

This specimen consists of two gemmy, olive green elbaite xls on a bed of pale white albite xls.  One of the xls is singly terminated.  Who's to say with the Taliban taking over these portions of Pakistan how much longer we'll see mineral specimens coming out of this part of the world.

Erythrite
Specimen #Tu090507
Schneeberg
Saxony
Germany
3.8 x 3.8 x 3.1cm
Miniature
Frank Edwards Collection
Calvert Collection

$50

This specimen consists of matrix that is coated with quartz xls and a number of violet erythrite xls to 2mm.  This is the Type Locality for Erythrite.  This specimens carries a pretty good provenance and comes with two older specimen cards.  An excellent locality specimen.

Specimen #Tu090508
Kamloops Lake
British Columbia
Canada
1.9 x 1.3 x 0.8cm
Thumbnail
Don Belsher Collection

This specimen consists of thin tabular ferrierite xls, in radiating groups on matrix.  This is the type locality for ferrierite-mg.

Fluorite and Galena
Specimen #Tu090509
Rogerley Mine
Frosterley County
Durham
England
8.0 x 4.2 x 3.5cm
Small Cabinet
Fluorescent
$50

This crop of Rogerley fluorite's are extraordinary!  Put a specimen out in the sun and the fluorite xls turn indigo blue as witnessed in several of my photos.  The fluorite cubes on this specimen range in size to 1.5cm, are gemmy and display the kelly green color this location is famous for.  The specimen is mostly intact with a couple of trivial dings, only visible under magnification. I have a few other Rogerley flourites available for sale.  Under SW UV light, these specimens glow a ghostly neon blue color.

Fluorite Slab
Specimen #Tu090510
Jiangxi Province
China
12.5 x 7.3 x 0.8cm
Cabinet
$35

This specimen consists of a slice or slab of polished fluorite.  Collectors Edge mining operations in China continue to produce quite a bit of fluorite xls and some get cut and polished.  Personally I like these specimens and have one perched in a southern window where we get to enjoy its color every day.  Some photos are backlit in order to show off its intricate pattern and wonderful color. I have one other specimen to sell.  I believe it's this specimens "mate", as they line up nearly perfectly.

Forsterite var Peridot
Specimen #Tu090511
Sapat Valley
Mansehra
Northwest Frontier Province
Pakistan
3.6 x 2.7 x 1.5cm
Miniature
$50

This specimen consists of a cluster of very gemmy lime green peridot xls.  Who's to say with the Taliban taking over these portions of Pakistan how much longer we'll see mineral specimens coming out of this part of the world..
