While visiting the Westward Look Show, I stopped by to see Scott Werschky of Miner's Lunchbox.  We got to talking and he pulled out a flat of what appeared to be Fluorite Scepters.  I was instantly intrigued and found out they were from the Erongo Mountains in Namibia.  I selected a few of these as they were quite interesting and unique.  I found out a bit later that these are not truly scepters, but that they are fluorite octahedrons that have been etched away.  The current edition of Rocks and Minerals magazine has an article describing the same phenomenon with US specimens.  None the less, they are something quite unusual and attractive as well.  Enjoy!
