What's New
Updated January 21st, 2010
January 21, 2010 Greetings
fellow rockhounds and Happy New Year. Kim and I hope that this
New Year is treating you well and that you and yours are happy and
healthy. It's been a bit of a struggle getting this latest update
up and running as we had a run of bad luck towards the end of last
year. A pipe froze and burst in our home causing extensive damage
to our lower floor. This floor unfortunately housed our office
and affected our computers, which are the lifeblood of an online
business. Good thing I practiced what I preach and had everything
backed up. So we apologize for the delay in communicating with you and
look forward to a much better 2010.
For this offering we thought it would be nice to update our Kid's Room
with some of our all time most requested species: Rhodochrosite
and Raspberry Garnets. I've never before offered Rhodochrosite
specimens in my Kid's room, so this is a first. These specimens
hail from some new mining work being conducted by Collector's Edge and
are quite attractive and extremely collectible for the price. A
few years back, I offered a number of Raspberry Garnet specimens in my
Kid's Room and they were a big hit with both young and old. I've
been sold out of them for awhile until I recently came across a dealer
who had a stash of them.
Enjoy these new offerings, and stay tuned as we plan to bring you quite
a number of new specimens throughout the year including new specimens
from Tucson and many an auction specimen through John Veevaert's
Mineral Auctions
site. Having gone through our flooding issue has given us a
chance to pause and reflect on how good our lives have been.
There are many others who are struggling much more than we ever will,
so please remember those who aren't quite as lucky as us when you
consider ways to give back. Enjoy this New Year and we look
forward to "seeing" you online!
All the Best!
Kim and Andrei

October 7, 2009 It's
been awhile, but I've finally had a chance to update our site. We
sorted through our mineral collection just before I started my
temporary assignment (August-December) with the Forest Service in
John
Day, Oregon, and found that we have quite a nice selection of
attractive and affordable Mexican minerals. With that in mind, we
decided it was time to bring back our Mexico Room and voila; our
latest update was conceived!
To check out our latest two page update, please click on the adamite

Andrei's Special Auction August
28-September 1
August 12, 2009 This
year in Tucson, I visited all of the dealers that I've historically
purchased Sweet Home Rhodochrosite material from and came away wanting
for more. Unfortunately the price of these specimens continues to
climb out of the stratosphere, and beyond my price comfort level.
I was able though to pick up a number of attractive and affordable
specimens for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. It's just a
matter or persistence and willingness to haggle for the best
price. I'm afraid that if prices continue doing what they have
been doing over the last several years, I will get priced out of the
market. My choice is to purchase quality, affordable specimens
unless someone has a special request. There's a good variety of
shapes, sizes and colors with this batch, including a number of
fluorescent specimens. Enjoy! Click on the picture below to
check them
out.
June 28, 2009 At
this
years Tucson show, there were a number of dealers who were selling
Chinese Rhodochrosite specimens. Before making my selections for
purchase, I took the time to look through just about every dealers
stock to compare quality and price. After doing my "research", I
selected a few specimens for their quality, composition,
species present and affordability. I hope you enjoy them as much
as I
did picking them out! Click on the following link to check them
out.
June 14, 2009 We've
had a number of recent requests to put together an update of quality,
affordable gold specimens. So, to continue our theme of
economic stimulus packages, we proudly present the following beautiful
gold specimens. Here's your opportunity to choose from
a number of reasonably
priced quality
specimens to add to your collection. Enjoy!
June 6, 2009 The
time has come once again for my
annual tribute to my favorite mineral species - Rhodochrosite. I
collect specimens throughout the year and then share them with
y'all. This year I plan to complete a number of updates (can't
say how many for sure yet) over the course of the next month or so and
here's the first. This first update is comprised of some of the
best N'Chwaning and Uchucchacua specimens I've ever had the pleasure of
handling. They are really quite exquisite specimens displaying
great color, luster and form. You can view the first eight specimens of
my annual Rhodochrosite Extravaganza by clicking on the following
link. Stay tuned, there are quite a few more specimens to come
from all around the world .
May 28, 2009 Welcome
to our economic stimulus effort - Part Deux! We participated in
the second year of the Seattle Mineral Market over Memorial Day Weekend
and had a chance to meet and chat with quite a few mineral
aficionados. One of the repeating topics of discussion was that
everyone seemed to have a bit less cash available to spend on "extras",
such as rocks. A true rockhead may disagree as he/she may always
have enough loose change squirreled away to purchase that irresistible
specimen, but I'll leave that to y'all to decide. In any case, we
enjoyed the show immensely, made some new friends, reconnected with old
ones and decided to come home and offer some excellent and very
affordable specimens in our next update.
That next update comes in the form of 35 specimens in our "Keystone" or
Clearance Room. We cleared out a number of our rooms and with our
annual tribute to Andrei's favorite mineral species coming soon, what
better way to prepare than by offering y'all great deals on some of our
remaining posted stock.
Stay tuned for future updates which will include Rhodochrosite (in
stages), more Gold specimens, Silver specimens and a new Mexico
room. For today, I proudly present the following thirty five
specimens for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. You can view
my Keystone room by clicking on the following link. Enjoy!

May 10, 2009 Happy Mother's Day! I've
recently had the pleasure of acquiring a number of new gold specimens
that are quite unique, beautiful and what better day to display them,
than on Mother's Day. They are from the Round Mountain Mine in
Nevada and are unique for the simple fact that they are still found on
matrix. Some would ask, w
hy is that so
unique? Please let me explain. Round Mountain
gold is formed in quartz adularia veins. Subsequent sericitic
alteration of the system, leaves much of the gold floating in clay,
with no matrix. Finding specimens still on matrix with quartz
crystals intact is fairly rare for this local.
I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did handling and
photographing them. They are quite the work of Mother
Nature. Please stay tuned as I'm planning a number of new updates
ranging from
more gold, rhodochrosite, Mexican and gem quality specimens. To
check out my Mother's Day update, please click on the following
link. Na Zdorovye!
PS.......Kim and I will be displaying mineral specimens and her jewelry
at the second annual Seattle Mineral Market on Saturday May 23rd,
2009. For more information about the show,
please click here.
We hope to see some of you then!
May 2, 2009 At
long last, I've found the time to complete my next update. Going
on our delayed honeymoon, responding to economic stimulus opportunities
at work, while sorting through new Wilderness designations on my Forest
found in the Omnibus Lands Bill, all conspired to keep me very busy
over the last several months and left little time for updates.
Until now!
Kim and I discussed what to post and decided with the global economy
teetering on the edge of a precipice, now would be a good time for our
own economic stimulus package. We sorted through all of my Tucson
purchases and selected twenty two attractive, yet very affordable
specimens. Personally, I like them all and hope you will as
well.
Please stay tuned as I'm planning a number of new updates ranging from
gold, rhodochrosite, Mexican and gem quality specimens. To check
out my second Tucson update, please click on the following link.
Enjoy!
February 22, 2009 I've
returned home from this years craziness, otherwise known as the Tucson
Show. As always, it was a memorable trip to the desert southwest,
one full of quality specimens, long days, friendships renewed and new
ones made. My heart felt thanks go out to my lifelong friend
Andrei, who put up with our coming and going at all hours of the day
and night. He did an excellent job hosting us once again and I
look forward to our visit next year.
For my first update of specimens I selected at this years show, I've
selected three different groups of minerals that I found very
interesting, exciting, affordable and noteworthy. I hope to list
additional updates, perhaps two or three in the next week or two.
Stay tuned, as I brought home quite an assortment of very nice mineral
specimens and am in the midst of prepping them for sale. To check
out my first update, please click on the following link. Enjoy!
January 25, 2009 It's
been quite some time since I've sequestered enough time to update my
Kid's Corner. With today's update, that injustice has been
resolved. In an effort to take better stock of what mineral
specimens I have in my collection, I found a couple of flats of
specimens that I forgot I had. One contains pretty little
Amethyst specimens I picked up in Tucson (2004) from Steve Smale.
The other is a flat of John Veevaert collected Callaghanite specimens
from Nevada. I invite you to check them out in my Kid's Corner as
both pages contain incredibly nice specimens at rock bottom
prices. Pick up a few for your kid or kids today! Click on
the following link to
start your adventure!
January 24, 2009 We
pass along our Best Wishes to You and Yours for a Healthy, Happy and
Prosperous New Year in 2009! Welcome to our first site update in
the New Year. We decided that in preparation for our upcoming
trip to Tucson, and because a number of you requested it, we've updated
our Clearance Room with numerous new specimens. Every one is
marked Keystone (50% off), so I firmly believe there's something here
that will meet every collectors tastes. Take a look around and
get
back to us with your order or offer as I'm always open to offers,
especially on multiple specimens! Sold out!
December 11, 2008 For
the
next week (or so), we're throwing a 25% off sale on all of our
remaining specimens (except a few). Take a look around and get
back to us with your order or offer. I'm always open to offers!
November 30, 2008 Being
Russian myself; I've always wanted to create a Russia Room on my site,
and now I can proudly say that it has become a reality. Kim and I
have been searching out "Russian" minerals at every show we go to and
in this update we present 17 of our favorites on two pages. The
specimens presented here come from not only Russia, but from several of
the former Republics of the Soviet Union. I hope you enjoy them
as much as we did putting this update together. To start your
journey through Russia,

October 12, 2008 I've

completed Denver show. Here for your viewing pleasure are twenty
excellent specimens on two pages that we picked up in Denver.
Enjoy them, as we sure have enjoyed handling and
photographing them. Click on any of the following photos to be
magically transported to one of two pages of specimen updates.
I'm also posting specimens to John Veevaert's new Dealers Choice and
Theme Auctions. You can check out my listings by clicking on the

Coming next will be a new Russia Room, new Country Room updates as well
as an update to my Clearance Room. Stay tuned, there is much more
to come!
September 28, 2008 I've
finally had the chance to complete my first update from the recently
completed Denver show. I would have liked to have completed it
much sooner, but my day job with the Forest Service has kept me very
busy lately. I know, I know - I'm preaching to the choir!
LOL.
Anyway, here for your viewing and purchasing pleasure is our next gold
update
with specimens we picked up in Denver. Most of them are from the
Round Mountain Mine in Nevada, while one is from the Alaska Mine in
California. Included here is an excellent array of incredible
gold specimens. Enjoy them, as we sure have enjoyed handling and
photographing them. As I have time, I will add some video
snippets of several of these pieces on our You Tube site.
Coming next will be a mixed bag of Denver specimens as well the
creation of a new Russia Room along with other Country Room updates.
September 19, 2008 We've
posted our video summary of the displays at this years Denver Show to
our
You Tube
page. We posted a two part summary that describes a number of the
minerals on display at this years show where the theme was: Minerals of
Colorado.
You
can view the two part summary by clicking here. ENJOY!
September 4, 2008 We're
departing to Denver next week and thought it would be a good time to
hold another "You Name Your Price" sale. We held a similar sale
about a year ago, found it to be very successful and thought we'd try
it
again. The way it works is simple. You find a specimen
listed in our inventory that you'd like to purchase. Regardless
of its listed price, please feel free to make us an offer on it.
We could either accept your offer or make a counter offer.
Simple?!? If you have any questions, please feel free to write
and we'll get right back to you. This sale will run from September
4-15. We leave for Denver the afternoon of the 10th, so if you
have any "
Special
Requests" please contact us. Have fun browsing around and we
look forward to hearing from many of you. All the Best!

August 17, 2008 The
Newlyweds are back home and we've decided to hold a Wedding Sale.
Every piece on this web site (except a few exceptions) will receive a
25% discount off
of its listed price from August 17 through August 27th. We're
also happy to announce
that we've created a new "Clearance Room". The specimens in this
room are 50% off marked prices. As this room empties, we'll
periodically add more specimens. We've also updated our USA room
with eight new specimens. To check out all of our specimens,
please click here and
ENJOY!
Coming Soon - We plan to add a new Russia Room and to add specimens to
our Europe, Mexico and Africa rooms. We anticipate having these updates
ready in the next couple of weeks, fires permitting.
June 16, 2008 The
time has come for my
annual tribute to my favorite mineral species - Rhodochrosite. I
collect specimens throughout the year and then share them with
y'all. This years update contains close to 90 specimens from all
around this
wonderful world of ours. From China to Peru. From South
Africa to Colorado. I hope you enjoy it! To get started on your
Rhodochrosite journey, please click on the following link.
Enjoy!
