Beryl var. Aquamarine from Virgem Da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil

This is one of the most unusual Aquamarines I've had the pleasure of handling.  It has been etched and has a number of micro holes that run through the length of the specimen.  I tried to capture this in my photos, but it's hard to discern.  It has good color; displays a bit of gemminess and is the strangest looking (in a good way) aqua specimen I've run across.  I was able to better deduce its location thanks to one of Trinity Minerals auction participants.  He mentioned that he had a specimen that could be this one's twin and provided me with the location.

In Arlene's words: "Part of the "Missouri Minerals" closeout sale.  The man running the store did not know much about minerals so could not help me with a good location information, just Minas Gerais, Brazil."
